Engaged!! Wedding checklist

Saturday, 23 January 2016

I am planning on getting married in 2016. Although I am living in Ireland, we are going to have it in Spain. Yayyy!

I was thinking about all the things we need to do and here is a small list of things to start thinking about if you just got engaged.

- Think hard about your wedding budget, how much you would like to spend. Don´t forget to include your dress, make up, rings, flights, etc... It all adds up!;)

- Get a wedding planner. I totally recommend this - especially if you are doing your wedding abroad. They will take a lot of the hard-work and stress, so you can focus on looking great on your big day.

- Pick a wedding date and time. Be sure to lock this in with your venues!

- Start planning the guest list. Remember ´Plus ones´!

- Look for and book ceremony sites and reception sites.

Good luck! and Congratulation in your engagement!

Easy Xmas ginger cookies

Tuesday, 22 December 2015

The best way to get into the Christmas spirit is baking some yummy ginger cookies. Let me show you my favorite recipe. It is super easy to do!

Ingredients:
3 cups of All Purpose Flour
2 tsp of Ground Ginger
2 tsp of Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp of Baking Soda
½ tsp of Ground Cloves
½ tsp of Salt
1 ½ cups of Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
1 cup of Brown Sugar
¼ cup of Molasses
1 Egg

Process,

1) In a small bowl, combine together the first 6 ingredients and set aside.

2) In the bowl of a standing mixer fitted attachments, cream together the butter, sugar and molasses for 1 minute or until very smooth and creamy. Add the egg and mix to incorporate.

3) Add the dry ingredients and mix everything together until a sticky dough forms.

4) Dump dough onto a well floured board and just kneed it enough to form a ball. Cut the dough in 4 pieces and wrap each piece in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

5) Preheat the oven to 350 and lay some parchment paper on you baking sheets and set aside.

6) Take 1 large piece of parchment paper and lay in on your counter, dust generously with flour and put one piece of the dough in the center. Dust the top of the dough with flour and place another piece f parchment paper on top. Using a rolling pin roll it out until the dough is about 1/8 inch thick.

7) Using a gingerbread man cookie cutter, dip it in some flour and cut out your shapes. Using a spatula to help, place the cookies onto the parchment lined baking sheets and bake for about 10 minutes.

8) Let them cool completely before decorating to your like with some royal icing

Xmas mood

Sunday, 20 December 2015

Hi Ladies,

Christmas season is upon us! With the holidays in full swing, I wanted to show you some of my favorite items this month:

These two little fellows are kept near my bed, so everyday I wake up I get a quick, cute reminder about the christmas spirit.

As always, red is going to be the primary and must-have color this season. Warmer reds will help melt hearts and snowflakes, while helping you look sexy across the holidays.

Of course it would not be christmas without Wool-Knit Jumpers and Dresses to help keep you warm and cosy.

For an extra finishing touch this christmas, be sure not to forget cute accessories like these amazing santa mittens.

If you want to take things to the next level, then incorporate pre-designed nails into your manicure.

To make you christmas that much sweeter, here´s a great example of a cute cupcake to go wild with after christmas dinner.

4 Ways to avoid always wearing the same clothes

Monday, 9 November 2015

Hi Ladies,

Today I´m going to share my tips for mixing and matching, as well as some great advice for your wardrobe.

- Organize: Plan what you are going to wear in advance.
Organize your wardrobe according to both type of clothing and color.
This will help you visually pick out what you are going to wear.

- Tidy: Make sure you have all you clothes ironed and hung/folded in your wardrobe. This means you don´t have to worry about prepping the clothes are picking.

- Hanger Rotation: Hang whatever you wore today (if it´s clean!) at the opposite end of the closet and keep doing that every day.
You are less likely to wear the same outfit twice. You should also be able to see what´s clean straight away.

- Accessories: Different accessories will instantly bring a new look to your outfit. A waist belt can change the proportions of a voluminous top entirely, while a necklace or a shiny little handbag adds an instant refresh.

Hopefully you found these little tips helpful :)

Halloween cupcakes

Friday, 30 October 2015

Hello Ladies,

Today I want to show you some super spooky/cute cupcakes that are sure to brighten up your "All Hallow's Eve".

With Halloween approaching fast, you don't have to worry about too much time or effort.

You'll see great results from only a little bit of work! These are also 'no-bake' - so no hassle! hehe.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 'Ready to Roll' Icing/Fondant in a few colors.
  • I chose White, Black, Green and Orange.

  • Plain Cupcakes or Mini Muffins
  • Some Buttercream or Nutella
  • A glass or cup slightly larger than your muffins
  • A knife
  • Some water or edible glue
  • A rolling pin
  • Some sculpting tools (or a toothpick / flattened straw if you're in a pinch)
  • Some grease-proof paper for your rolling surface
  • 20 minutes!

  • I'll show you how to to make are a super cute, friendly Frankenstein, but I'll also add some creative examples below ;)

The first step is to cover you cupcakes/muffins with a thin layer of buttercream/nutella(Yummy!).
This helps the icing fondant adhere to the cupcake and adds an extra shock of flavour!

The next step is to roll out the 'base' color for your figure (green) and cut a circle with the glass you chose earlier. Make sure the circle you roll is not too thin as it starts to break, but not so thick that eating it will be a chore!

Turn your cupcake upside-down and press gently into the icing circle, taking care not to leak your filling all over the outside!

Ladies - Remember to be gentle :P I learned the hard way that squished filling ruins clothing!

You'll want to start to shape the 'face' of Frankenstein by gently applying pressure until you have a 'squarish' shape.

Next we'll cut a semi-circle for his hair. Using the same glass you used for his face, cut a semi-circle out of black fondant. Cut an additional piece off of the flat-side to make the overall shape shorter, than cut 2 or 3 triangles off so it looks like he has a funky hair-do.

Using a little bit of water or edible glue on the face, then gently press the hair shape down on top.

You can using a sculpting tool to carve out a cheeky grin and a mean scar here, if you haven't already done so.

Now, lets make his cute little eyes!

We'll roll out two white balls of icing to make the white of his eyes. Gently flatten the balls before dabbing the back with water/edible glue and pressing onto the face.

Next to the same with smaller black balls for this pupils.

Roll a small black icing 'sausage' and cut in half to form his eyebrows.

    ALMOST FINISHED!

You can make his ears by rolling 2 green balls of fondant, pinching at one side and applying to the sides of the face with water/edible glue.

If you mix 2 small pieces of white and black icing together, you'll get a grey. Use this grey to make 2 tiny bolts to sit under his ears, around where his neck should be.

And that's it! You'll find that once you get the hang of one, it's very easy to produce them 'en-masse'.

Here are some additional examples I've made:

    Good luck, and Happy Halloween!
